About The Scholarship:  

Scholarships for international, advanced standing and master’s students in all disciplines are now being made directly accessible for further study at Dalhousie University in Canada. 

Scholarship Benefits: 

The amount of the award will be distributed in the following manner: 

1- Master’s for level 1: $666.66 a term + ITF for foreign scholars combined with a relocation stipend if needed; 

2- Doctorate for level 2: $10,000 per semester + moving allowance if needed and a President’s Award covering two years. 

Eligibility Criteria: 

  • Canada Graduate Scholarships are open to anyone, regardless of national or international origin; 
  •  Applicants are required to demonstrate that they have been able to complete a successful funding application to the relevant domestic or foreign agency(ies) and to NSERC, SSHRC, CIHR, NSHRF, NSGS, etc., according to the applicant’s area of research. Non-Canadian applicants should also be aware that they have been nominated for any provincial as well as national and international awards they may be eligible to receive (NSGS, etc.). 
  •  Applicants selected for the Killam Pre-Doctoral Fellowship must have a minimum of two years of eligibility for the fellowship. Therefore, only first year students at the Master’s level will be considered. At the doctoral program level, this means that the fellowship will only be considered for students who have been in the program for approximately 24 months as of May 1 of the fellowship year.

Admission Requirements: 

The registration requirements for admission consist of a bachelor’s or master’s degree earned at a four-year university, a minimum GPA of 3.0 from any previous 60 hours, and a degree from an academically credentialed university. 

Language Requirements: 

The requirements for language proficiency examinations may be waived if the applicant is a native speaker of English and a graduate of an approved university where English is the major language of instruction and from a country where English is used as one of the national languages. 

Applicants for whom English is not the primary language must have the ability to complete a higher level program in English before being admitted.
