Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the RMIT University Research Stipend Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Academic Excellence: Applicants should exhibit outstanding academic performance, generally evidenced by a high distinction (80% or above) in their previous studies.
Research Commitment: Applicants must be prepared to engage in at least 12 months of full-time study. Those with prior higher-level research degrees are not eligible.
RMIT Enrollment: Applicants must be enrolled or planning to enroll at RMIT University and meet the English language proficiency requirements.
Scholarship Restrictions: Applicants should not have previously held a Commonwealth or RMIT research scholarship unless it was terminated early, and they must not be receiving another award exceeding 75% of this scholarship’s value.

Special Conditions

Part-Time Study: Part-time scholarships may be available for domestic applicants under exceptional circumstances.
Current and Transferring Students: Current students or those transferring must have a minimum of 24 months remaining for a PhD or 12 months for a Master’s by Research to be eligible.
