  • Tuition Coverage:
    1. International Students: Eligible for either the RTP International Tuition Fee Offset Scholarship (RIFOS) or the RMIT Research International Tuition Fee Scholarship (RRITFS) to cover tuition fees.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the RMIT University Research Stipend Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Academic Excellence: Applicants should exhibit outstanding academic performance, generally evidenced by a high distinction (80% or above) in their previous studies.
  • Research Commitment: Applicants must be prepared to engage in at least 12 months of full-time study. Those with prior higher-level research degrees are not eligible.
  • RMIT Enrollment: Applicants must be enrolled or planning to enroll at RMIT University and meet the English language proficiency requirements.
  • Scholarship Restrictions: Applicants should not have previously held a Commonwealth or RMIT research scholarship unless it was terminated early, and they must not be receiving another award exceeding 75% of this scholarship’s value.

Special Conditions

  • Part-Time Study: Part-time scholarships may be available for domestic applicants under exceptional circumstances.
  • Current and Transferring Students: Current students or those transferring must have a minimum of 24 months remaining for a PhD or 12 months for a Master’s by Research to be eligible.
  • Ineligibility: Applicants with a Research Doctorate or equivalent are not eligible for stipends for a Master’s by Research, and vice versa.
